Tour Details
Grigoriev Gorge
Renowned for its wild beauty and dense coniferous forests, this gorge is situated at 2,200 meters above sea level. Towering Tian Shan fir trees create a natural sanctuary, filling the air with the fresh scent of pine, which locals believe has healing properties. A peaceful walk along the mountain river leads to picturesque lakes, such as Upper and Lower Grigoriev Lakes, whose mirror-like surfaces reflect the sky and surrounding mountains. This is the perfect spot to take a break, breathe in the fresh air, and savor the moment.
Semenov Gorge
In stark contrast to Grigoriev Gorge, Semenov Gorge is vast and open, offering breathtaking views of the rushing Ak-Suu River below. The name “Ak-Suu” translates to “White Water”, a nod to its glacial origins and crystal-clear flow. For centuries, nomadic herders have used this valley as grazing land, and in the summer months, you might see traditional yurts and herds of yaks dotting the landscape. According to legend, ancient warriors once sought inspiration here before heading into battle.
Issyk-Kul Petroglyphs
A true open-air museum, these ancient rock carvings date back to the 2nd millennium BCE and are linked to the Saka and Wusun cultures. The petroglyphs depict hunting scenes featuring mountain goats and snow leopards, illustrating the deep connection between these ancient people and their natural surroundings. Many visitors describe this site as having a powerful energy, as if standing in direct conversation with the past. The location also offers stunning panoramic views of Issyk-Kul Lake and the surrounding mountains, making it an awe-inspiring stop.
Hot Springs
To wrap up our journey, you’ll have the chance to unwind in a natural hot spring, with waters reaching up to 40°C (104°F). Rich in minerals like calcium, magnesium, and sulfur, these waters are believed to relieve fatigue, promote relaxation, and rejuvenate the body. A perfect way to end the day, leaving you refreshed and full of energy.
