Tour Details
Day 1: Bishkek – Southern Shore of Issyk-Kul
We will depart from Bishkek and head towards the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, with our first stop at the Kok-Moynok canyons. These stunning sandy-clay formations, shaped by the wind, are believed to be remnants of the ancient Issyk-Kul lakebed, as evidenced by salt deposits. This location is perfect for photography.
Next, we will cross the Kubaky Pass (2160 m) and descend to the Orto-Tokoy Reservoir, an essential irrigation source for the Chuy Valley that also impresses with its natural beauty.
Our journey continues to the Ak-Sai Canyons, also known as the Valley of Forgotten Rivers. Following winding trails, we will reach the shores of Issyk-Kul, where panoramic views of the lake and mountains unfold.
After a stop at a café to sample traditional dishes, we will arrive in Kadji-Sai in the evening, where a cozy guesthouse awaits us for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Kadji-Sai – Skazka – Barskoon – Arabel Plateau
After breakfast, we will visit the Skazka (Fairy Tale) Canyon, famous for its surreal landscapes. Over centuries, erosion has shaped whimsical figures from clay and stone, creating a strikingly colorful landscape made of minerals and rock formations.
Our next stop is Barskoon Gorge, one of the most beautiful places on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Here, you will find majestic waterfalls and dense spruce forests. This area is not only known for its natural beauty but also for being near Kyrgyzstan’s largest gold mine—Kumtor. Additionally, Yuri Gagarin visited this gorge after his space flight.
We will visit two waterfalls before heading to the Arabel Plateau, located at 3,900 meters above sea level. This tundra-like valley is surrounded by mountain peaks, with summer temperatures not exceeding +8°C. The area has almost no vegetation, yet the presence of numerous rivers and over 50 lakes creates an unforgettable landscape. This high-altitude location will leave you with lasting impressions of Kyrgyzstan’s pristine nature.
By evening, we will return to the hotel for dinner and rest.
Day 3: Kadji-Sai – Shatylym Panorama – Bishkek
After breakfast, we will head to Shatylym Panorama, a picturesque viewpoint in the Boz-Salkyn Valley. The climb to this observation point offers stunning views of Issyk-Kul Lake, the surrounding mountains, and the Mars Canyons. This spot is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
Our next destination offers more breathtaking landscapes and another chance to take in the region’s incredible scenery.
Afterward, we will witness a traditional eagle hunting show, a centuries-old Kyrgyz tradition. You will also have the opportunity to try your hand at archery.
After completing our program, we will return to Bishkek. Along the way, we will make a stop to enjoy some of the best national dishes at a local café.
